Havana, Nov 28 (RHC) Cuba is consolidating projects in the area of education, aimed at training teachers in new technologies and improving learning processes with the help of the Organization of Ibero-American States for Education, Science, and Culture(OEI).

During today's inauguration of the permanent headquarters of the intergovernmental organization in Havana, its director, Iosmara Fernández, said that the main topics of joint work are special education and educational inclusion.

She also delved into the digital transformation project that integrates the universities of Computer Sciences, the Agrarian University, and the Technological University of Havana José Antonio Echeverría, to enhance the skills of teachers for the development of distance education with the design of virtual courses.

The expert commented that since October, teachers have been trained in neuroscience, in coordination with the Presencia program from Argentina, with the participation of 30 teachers from pedagogical schools and specialists from diagnosis and orientation centers, present in each municipality of the national territory.

The aim is to replicate this knowledge throughout Cuba and merge neuroscience, psychology, and pedagogy skills to improve learning, she said.

According to Fernandez, the permanent headquarters of the OEI, opened on Monday with the participation of high-level representatives of the organization, marking the consolidation of relations between both parties. Cuba has been a member state of the OEI since 1985.

The office will also strengthen alliances with other Ibero-American representations and the cultural identity of Cuba and those territories united by common languages and strong historical ties, she said.

With the opening of the Havana office, the OEI reaffirms its position as the intergovernmental cooperation organization with the largest physical presence in Ibero-America.

This entity conceives education, science, and culture as tools for human development and generators of opportunities to build a better future (Source: ACN).
