Díaz-Canel thanked St. Vincent and the Grenadines for helping Cuba

Kingstown, Dec 5 (PL) Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel thanked today the legislators of St. Vincent and the Grenadines for the aid provided to his country after accidents and natural disasters.

During a special session in Parliament, the Cuban president acknowledged the support and resources shared by that nation, where he has been on an official visit since last Saturday.

Díaz-Canel recalled the legacy of the leader of the Cuban Revolution Fidel Castro, a guide in the path of solidarity with the brother territories of the Caribbean, and ratified Havana's accompaniment in the just claims of historical reparations for the damages of colonialism and slavery.

In that space organized in his honor, the president affirmed that "there is only one way to face these challenges effectively and satisfactorily: the unity and integration of the peoples".

For his part, Prime Minister Ralph Gonsalves ratified his country's position of rejecting the continuous effort of the United States to intervene in Cuba's internal affairs and denounced the economic, commercial, and financial blockade imposed by Washington.

He also condemned the inclusion of the island in the unilateral list of countries sponsoring terrorism and assured that Kingstown and Havana are working and advancing in regional integration and the defense of the United Nations Charter.
