Cuban ambassador talks with Bahamian students

Havana, Feb 7 (RHC) Cuban Ambassador to the Bahamas Julio Cesar Gonzalez visited the San Pedro International School in Nassau, where he discussed the Cuban Revolution with Bahamian students, according to a press release issued Tuesday by the Cuban Foreign Ministry.

 

Invited by the school's directors, Gonzalez talked with the students about transcendental moments in the country's history, according to the Cuban Foreign Ministry.

 

The twelfth-grade students and their history teacher were interested in the contribution of our country to the liberation of African countries and the fight against apartheid. They also spoke with the ambassador about the U.S. economic, commercial, and financial blockade against Cuba and its effects on the Cuban family.

 

The note from the Foreign Ministry said that Cuban teachers living in that Caribbean nation work at the school and there is joint work with the diplomatic mission.

 

It indicated that the students regularly participate in contests and tributes to Cuba's National Hero, José Martí (1853-1895).

 

According to the Foreign Ministry, participants highlighted the contribution made by the Cuban people to the world and especially to the Bahamas in terms of education and health. (Source: Prensa Latina).
