Havana, Mar 8 (RHC) Juan Antonio Quintanilla Román, Cuba's permanent representative to the United Nations Office in Geneva, denounced the intensification of the economic, commercial, and financial blockade imposed by the United States on the island more than 60 years ago.

During his speech at the 52nd session of the UN Human Rights Council, the diplomat said that this policy is a flagrant and systematic violation of the rights of the Cuban people, he reported on his Twitter account.

Quintanilla Román also condemned the imposition of unilateral coercive measures, the promotion of fourth-generation wars, disinformation campaigns, and the promotion and protection of mercenaries, among other unacceptable practices.

The developing world does not need more sanctions or meddling missions, it needs technology transfer, capacity building, special and differential treatment, external financing on advantageous terms, and Official Development Assistance, said the diplomat during the debates.

This intergovernmental organization was created in March 2006 and is made up of 47 States responsible for the promotion and protection of all human rights around the world. (Source: ACN)
