Investment Forum at the International Sports Fair

 

Havana, Aug 2 (RHC) The Investment Forum at the First International Cuban Sports Fair 2023 showed the potential in the sector of the island.

Among the projects presented is the proposal for the rehabilitation of the Baraguá swimming pool complex, to the east of the capital.

Rolando Almirante, a member of the swimming club, argued for the possibility of using renewable energy both for lighting the facility and for the temperature of the water in the pools, which promotes better quality training for athletes and fuel savings for the nation's economy. He added that the surrounding population can benefit socially with new jobs and the improvement of the town.

Manuel Cumbrado, deputy director of PROCUBA, of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment, specified in the forum that the lines of the projects are in line with the country's priorities.

The directors of PROCUBA and CUBADEPORTES S.A. signed a memorandum of understanding for the promotion of business opportunities with foreign capital and the exportable supply of goods and services.

Within the Business Forum of the Cuban Sports System, the signing of a Collaboration Agreement will take place between the company Cubadeportes S.A., associated with the Cuban Sports Institute (Inder), and the Musical Recordings and Editions Company (Egrem).

In the afternoon, the multifunctional hall of the Sports City Coliseum will host the conference The Sports Cluster as an international platform for a sports tourism destination, delivered by the Spanish businessman Antonio González Fernández, representative of Almería Sports Destination.

Subsequently, his colleague Juan Luis Navarro, from Lidera Consulting, will speak about the potential that Cuba has to transform its resources in each line of projection, in order to become the best reference and American destination for amateur and high-level sports tourism.

The Fair was inaugurated this Tuesday in Havana’s Sports City, and has the participation of 123 companies from 13 countries.
