Cuban and Angolan experts to cooperate on pharmaceutical regulation issues

The agreement, signed during President Miguel Diaz-Canel's visit to the African country on August 21, will enable the institutions to mutually support the training of human resources in areas such as clinical trials and quality control.

 

 

Havana, Aug 27 (RHC) Angolan professionals will participate in training programs with Cuba's Center for State Control of Medicines, Equipment and Medical Devices (CECMED), under an agreement.

 

The memorandum of understanding signed between the Cuban entity and the Angolan Regulatory Agency of Medicines and Health Technologies (Armed) will allow the exchange of knowledge and experiences with a view to sharing new techniques and technologies.

 

The agreement, signed during President Miguel Diaz-Canel's visit to the African country on August 21, will enable the institutions to mutually support the training of human resources in areas such as clinical trials and quality control.

 

Other areas will be hemovigilance, regulation of health products, pharmaceutical logistics, pharmacoepidemiology and pharmacoeconomics.

 

It also promotes the transfer of technologies with a view to the creation and start-up of pharmaceutical factories in Angola, the maintenance of diagnostic equipment and electromedicine.

 

The legal instrument will also allow the creation of associations for the mutual or unilateral recognition of the parties' decisions on pharmaceutical regulatory matters and the exchange of information on such matters of mutual interest (Source: Prensa Latina).
