Havana, October 6 (Web Network)-- The First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel emphasized on Friday his profound rejection of terrorism, on the 47th anniversary of the mid-flight explosion of a Cubana de Aviación aircraft with 73 people on board.

In his profile on the social network X (formerly Twitter), the dignitary recalls the abominable crime, forged in the United States with the consent of the U.S. government.

He added that terrorism is a scourge that has never ceased to threaten our people, and still persists in the plans of hatred and destruction of the White House against the Caribbean nation and its Revolution.

In another message on the same platform, Díaz-Canel points out that the greatest proof of the empire's cynicism is to place Cuba on its list of countries sponsoring terrorism, when those responsible for the bombing of the Cuban airliner lived and died in the United States without paying for their crimes.

The greatest proof of cynicism of the empire, is to put the honorable name of #Cuba on its list of sponsors of terrorism, when the terrorists responsible for the Barbados Crime, lived and died in #USA without paying for their crimes.#NoAlTerrorismo pic.twitter.com/NJvcfcIy7T

Orchestrated by the notorious Cuban-born terrorists Luis Posada Carriles (1928-2018) and Orlando Bosch (1926-2011), the event took the lives of 24 members of the youth fencing team, who were returning to their country after competing in the IV Central American and Caribbean Championship of that sport, held in Venezuela.

A total of 57 Cubans, 11 Guyanese and five citizens of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea lost their lives.

In Cuba, October 6 was declared the Day of the Victims of State Terrorism, a date chosen to commemorate that event that saddened the Cuban people and whose perpetrators had proven links with the CIA.

Since the triumph of the Revolution (January 1, 1959), more than 3,470 people have died and 2,99 have been affected as a result of the aggressive plans against the country.
