Auckland, September 15 (RHC) -- A Cuban delegation, headed by Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, arrived early Sunday in New Zealand invited by Foreign Minister Murray McCully.

This is the first time a high level delegation from Cuba visits New Zealand, aiming to reafirm the Caribbean country's will to continue widening and strengthening excellent current relations between both nations.

The meeting will allow the resumption of negotiations on topics of common interests previously discussed when McCully visited Cuba in 2012 and 2014.

The 48-hour visit to New Zealand will allow the Cuban minister to carry out a busy program of meetings with New Zealand's Governor General Lieutenant General Sir Jerry Mateparae, Foreign Minister Murray McCully, Trade Minister Tim Groser and David Shearer, Labor Party spokesman and member of the Foreign Affairs, Defence and Trade Committee.

The Cuban delegation also includes Miguel Ángel Ramírez, Foreign Ministry's Asia and Oceania director and Ambassador to New Zealand María del Carmen Herrera Caseiro.
