Havana, May 22 (RHC) --The Deputy Director General of the United States Directorate of the Cuban Foreign Ministry, Johana Tablada, today described as genocidal the inclusion of Cuba in the unilateral list of countries that supposedly sponsor terrorism.

In an interview with Canal Caribe on national television, the diplomat explained that the recent exclusion of the island from a list of nations that "do not fully cooperate in the fight against terrorism" does not mean its elimination from the general relationship of the State Department that imposes measures against this Caribbean country.

This unilateral measure constitutes one of the main genocidal tools of the White House to suffocate the Cuban people, and it persists despite the fact that more and more voices are being raised against such injustice, she pointed out.

She affirmed that Washington uses Cuba's presence on such a list as justification for the unilateral coercive measures that result from them, which are associated with the purpose of suffocating the island's economy and holding the Government responsible for their impact.

She also pointed out that the US Executive is simultaneously promoting a well-financed systematic communication operation in the mainstream press and on digital platforms to hold the victim country responsible for the impact of these inhumane measures, which significantly affect the population.

Keeping the country on that list, in addition to being an immoral act, constitutes a violation of the most basic rights of all the people, she stressed. (Source:PL)
