Colombian Influencer Confirms Cuba's Reality and Foreign Minister Reacts

Havana, Jul 12 (RHC) Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez today appreciated the ability of the Colombian influencer @Edisson to understand the reality of Cuba, especially the damage caused by the US blockade to the people of the island for more than six decades.

The head of this portfolio reacted in X to the threads of messages posted by the activist on social networks in which, after walking around Havana, he contrasts the reality of its inhabitants with the informative bias of the Western media.

Rodriguez said he was moved by @Edisson's ability to "understand and address different issues of the reality of today's Cuba, especially the cruel impact of the genocidal U.S. blockade on the economic and social life of the Cuban people."

Edisson captured views of this centennial capital, which he garnished with his impressions of the Cubans, whose "kindness and hospitality shine through, making me feel at ease, like at home".

He also appreciated Havana as "a city of peace in this troubled Latin America. I am surprised by this reality.

Violence is almost non-existent in Cuba. There are no guns and robberies are not normal. My Western prejudices crumbled when I understood this landscape," he wrote on his X profile, which has more than 40,000 followers.

In dialogue with the city's inhabitants, he understood the cause of the problems that burden them, such as the accumulation of garbage.

In a dialogue with the residents of the city, he understood the cause of the problems that burden them, such as the accumulation of garbage and debris, which he said is a consequence of the US blockade.

"The Municipal and Sanitation Company is facing a shortage of fuel and spare parts for its old collection trucks, said @Edisson.

He said he knew before he arrived that Havana faced a serious sanitation problem. With more than two million inhabitants and a floating population, the city generates a lot of waste due to poor housing conditions.

However, he noted that "the lack of coordination between (local) institutions aggravates the situation."

The influencer also revealed that "the gusanos (opposition extremists) implored me to come to Cuba if I thought of speaking about the Cuban Revolution. Well, here I am," he celebrated.  (Source: Prensa Latina)
