Return of 32 irregular migrants involved in illegal departure

Havana, 1 August (RHC) Thirty-two irregular migrants (26 men and six women) who participated in an illegal departure from the country and were subsequently intercepted by the US Coast Guard were returned to Cuba on Wednesday.

Upon their arrival at the port of Orozco, Bahía Honda, Artemisa, one of the repatriates was handed over to the Investigation Department for allegedly committing a crime.

With this return, there have been 56 returns from countries in the region in 2024, with 899 irregular migrants.

The Cuban authorities remain firm in their commitment to safe and orderly migration, while reiterating the danger and life-threatening conditions posed by illegal departures from the country. (Source: Minint)
