since October 2023, the Israeli army's bombings have killed more than 40,000 Palestinians and wounded nearly 92,000, in addition to displacing two million people.

Havana, Aug. 20 (RHC) Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel on Tuesday reiterated his denunciation of Israel's genocide against the Palestinian population in the Gaza Strip.

On his X profile, the head of state noted that since October 2023, the Israeli army's bombings have killed more than 40,000 Palestinians and wounded nearly 92,000, in addition to displacing two million people.

The day when future generations ask why we did not stop the Holocaust, we will not have a dignified and reasonable answer, he noted in his message.

On Tuesday, the Director General of the Government Information Office in Gaza, Ismail Al-Thawabta, said that 16,480 minors were among the population murdered "in a clear and massive manner."

He noted that 115 of them were born and died during the conflict, and a total of 35 died as a result of hunger and malnutrition, a situation that affects about 3,500 of them throughout the coastal enclave.

The official pointed out that more than 17,000 children are living without their parents or without one of them because they were killed by the Israeli military.

Recently, the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) warned of the serious humanitarian situation affecting the civilian population in Gaza.
