Havana, January 7 (RHC)-- Cuban hero Gerardo Hernandez -- one of the Cuban Five held for more than 16 years in U.S. prisons -- and his wife Adriana Pérez, had their dream come true with the birth of their first daughter, Gema, on Tuesday.
Gema was born at a Havana hospital at 8:30 a.m. yesterday, weighing 7.7 pounds. According to the website cubadebate.cu, Gerardo said the baby was beautiful and that both mother and daughter are doing fine.
Photos of Gema with her mother and father were published in this morning's editions of Granma and Juventud Rebelde newspapers.
