Beirut, May 6 (RHC) –- A trade mission from the recently set up Lebanese-Cuba Business Council (LCBC) will travel to Cuba in June to explore investment and business opportunities.

LCBC president Ali Kazma told Prensa Latina news agency that the trade mission will meet their Cuban counterparts in the first bilateral economic forum to take place June 2nd and 3rd at Havana's Hotel Nacional.

The event will be attended by the heads of different Cuban companies, foreign trade officials and executives from the Special Economic Zone at the Mariel harbor, west of Havana.

The Lebanese visitors expect to sign a document with the Cuban Chamber of Commerce to set up a legal framework for future projects in the areas of investment, commerce and joint ventures. The Lebanese trade mission will also meet with Cuban officials to boost the development of private initiatives on the island.

It was announced that an advance group from the Lebanese-Cuba Council will come to Havana in May to prepare for the meeting and the forum in June.
