The Spanish edition of The New York Times has just published a repugnant article suggesting that the Bolivarian Revolution in Venezuela uses the widely available Cuban medical services in that country to exert control over the civilian population, use votes for Maduro in exchange for medical supplies and maintain other measures of social pressure.

This disgusting lie is signed by the New York Times correspondent in Venezuela, Nicholas Casey, proclaimed as the Times correspondent in Caracas, although his license as foreign envoy has been cancelled because of a series of press reports in which he grossly distorted the economic and social reality in that South American nation. In other words, he lied!

Despite the ban for being a gross liar, Mr. Casey managed,  with the support of his Lima, Peru colleague, Andrea Zárate, with whom he shares many reactionary, backward points of view, to author a report full of lies and distortions about the Venezuelan reality,  and express his admiration for Juan Guaidó, the self-proclaimed President of Venezuela.

As it is usual in this mudslinging type of journalism, the article speaks about statements by some sixteen Cuban doctors who allegedly deserted from their ranks, although just two are identified: one that currently lives in Ecuador and the other one in Chile. The remaining fourteen are kept in the most obscure darkness.

The lies placed in the mouth of these two deserters are in open conflict with the most elementary common sense and the widespread experience of the hundreds of thousands of patients who in the four corners of the world have received the care, attention and

humanitarian assistance of thousands upon thousands of Cuban doctors and other specialists who spread their caring and loving knowledge to their patients in the most noble gesture of human solidarity.

I have personally watched them perform their humanitarian job in some remote corners of the world, where western type doctors would not touch even with a ten foot pole.

I know personally of the gratitude of the mothers, fathers and other relatives of the tens of  thousands of children that they have saved from death around the world and of those who recovered their health, their eyesight and-or their hope….. and in many cases all three of them together.  In no case, the Cuban physicians and other medical personnel have demanded a    plugged nickel in exchange for their services.

This wonderful miracle repeats itself in Haiti, the poorest nation in this Hemisphere, but also  in El Salvador, Nicaragua, Bolivia, Ecuador, Perú, Brazil, Colombia and, of course,  in  Venezuela.

At this point, I would like to recall one of the most exciting and notable feats in the history of modern medical attention. It is the extraordinary struggle inscribed by Cuban doctors in African and world history of modern medical attention when they were able to help fight and fully defeat the murderous ebola virus spread in  Western Africa, saving the lives of millions of natives, in one of the most glorious pages in the history of modern medical attentio

As an “expert” in their propaganda effort, the authors of the slanderous piece used as a witness an individual named José Miguel Vivanco, head of Human Rights Watch for   the Americas, who said “the Cuban Governments wants to ensure the survival of the Venezuelan regime and is doing everything in its power to support Maduro.”

Who is this individual?. His record includes close contacts with the CIA, the Cuban American Miami Mafia as well as with Venezuelan right wing circles. In fact, we was identified in Chile as one active supporter of Dictator Pinochet's secret police,

I have identified for you, dear listeners, some of the criminals who are behind the wave of US violence in the Hemisphere, with the aid of some right wing administrations.  They all have their hands stained with the blood of hundreds of thousands of innocent people

I now respectfully ask you, dear friends, to draw your own conclusions.
