As it happens every five years, a new election of the governor and vice-governor of the provinces took place in Cuba, in ceremonies with solemnity and required support, as a prelude to the hard work that awaits those high positions.
 
Pending the next inauguration, the directors elected at the proposal of the President of the Republic, as established by the Electoral Law, will be nothing less than the highest officials of their provinces, in the executive and administrative spheres.
 
They and the Provincial Council will integrate a territorial government with numerous tasks, key in these times if we remember that they must gather more encouragement to boost the local economy and therefore the nation's economy.
 
Surrounded by collaborators, subordinates and other support, governors and vice-governors have a special incidence in the good functioning of essential programs, planning and control, when savings and doing more with less are cardinal.  
 
All of them, as required by law, over 30 years of age, are called upon to lead efforts with a collective spirit, while the country's leadership calls for creative resistance to vicissitudes and greater use of science and innovation.
 
Certainly, the economic situation of the Caribbean archipelago is adverse due to a sharp reduction in the availability of foreign currency, insufficiencies of the state enterprise, fuel limitations and the after-effects of the productive paralysis during the pandemic.
 
All this is accompanied by the blockade of the United States and the negative effects on the international concert of the conflict in Ukraine, first and foremost inflation.
 
Governors and deputy governors in Cuba have tasks that they must face with vigor and hard work, in close contact with the population, affected by material shortages and weak services.   Although in all cases the country cannot respond in terms of resources as expected in the face of the accumulation of difficulties, timely information and the determination to reduce the problems will be decisive in the management of governors and deputy governors.
 
The delegates of the People's Power gathered in their municipal assemblies have just elected important public servants in the provinces, knowing that they will be very attentive to how to improve the welfare of citizens, as part of efforts to which they will have to add the thrust of the masses.
