The President of the United States and candidate for re-election in next November's elections is increasingly isolated, and not precisely because of the Covid-19 discovered this week, but because of the concern generated by his possible defeat by the Republican Donald Trump.

After the disastrous head-to-head between the two candidates, in which Biden showed clear signs of disorientation, more and more members of the Democratic Party, both in the rank and file and in influential positions, doubt the ability of the head of the White House to win the election.

The frequent mistakes of the leader of the world's leading economic and military power, such as when he confused the president of Ukraine with Vladimir Putin, or the day he mentioned Trump as his vice president instead of Kamala Harris, do not help to improve this aspect.

According to the northern nation's media, nearly two-thirds of his party's voters and 20 lawmakers want him to step aside and allow another candidate to be nominated at the national convention next August, although the question now is who could successfully replace him in the short time remaining.

Among the options is Vice President Harris herself, although her administration has been marked by a lack of relevance in the issues entrusted to her, particularly the negotiations with Central American countries that send migrants north.
