Middle East in Crisis

Tensions in the Middle East have escalated following the recent rocket attack on the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights, which killed 12 children and wounded some 30 others at a soccer stadium.

Tel Aviv blamed the action on the Hezbollah organization, although the latter denied any involvement in this particular attack.  In fact, the area is the scene of almost daily exchanges of fire between the two sides.

However, the group assured that all its operations are specifically against the Zionist forces and never against civilian targets.

One of the first reactions was the interruption of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's visit to the United States and his return to Israel to directly retaliate against the aggression, he said. 

The Zionist ruler went to the scene of the events, where he was rejected by the relatives and friends of the victims, who accused him of seeking political advantage with the spilled blood of innocents.

However, the day before, Israel bombed seven regions of southern Lebanon and warned that the actions will not stop there, raising fears of an escalation of violence that could trigger an all-out war between the two sides.

In fact, the US Secretary of State himself, Antony Blinken, called for efforts to find a negotiated solution between the Shiite Libanese group and the Israeli authorities.

In any case, it should be noted that the position of the US official is at least ambiguous, because his country, the main military power on the planet, unconditionally supports Netanyahu in the genocide he is practicing against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip.

Being an arsonist in the Strip and playing fireman in Lebanon for fear of the consequences of a major conflict speaks very poorly of the head of US diplomacy.

On the other hand, it has to be said that despite the new crisis with Hezbollah, the Zionist regime of Israel did not reduce the genocidal pressure on Gaza one iota, as the recent bombings that raised the death toll to almost 40, while the world looks the other way, have shown.

It must be remembered that this death toll is lower than the reality, as many bodies are buried under the rubble and are unlikely to be recovered one day.
