Students of Cuba's National Ballet School
Havana, May 27 (RHC)-- The 26th International Meeting of Ballet Academies will take place June 20th through the 27th, organized by the Cuban National Ballet School.
Cuba’s International Meeting of Ballet Academies is a unique event of its kind in the world, attracting ballet teachers, students, experts, researchers and specialized critics and press.
This year’s event, to be held virtually due to the epidemiological situation generated by Covid-19, is dedicated to Cuba’s flagship ballet company –Ballet Nacional de Cuba—founded by Cuban prima ballerina assoluta Alicia Alonso 70 years ago.
The program includes exchanges, conferences and workshops by Cuban and foreign ballet teachers, researchers and authorities with Ballet Nacional de Cuba.
The event will focus also on the impact of Covid-19 on the teaching of the artistic discipline and the role of digital platforms and social media.
Parallel events include the 7th Children’s International Ballet Dance Competition and the 16th Youth International Ballet Competition.
The Cuban National Ballet School was founded in 1931. It is one of the largest, most prestigious institutions of its kind in Cuba and around the world.
