Havana, June 7 (RHC)-- The 20th scientific conference on arts and culture began Monday and runs through June 11th, on digital platforms from Cuba.
The event aims to explore the link between scientific research and creative art. Intellectuals, writers, professors and students will exchange on issues like artistic practices, the cultural creation process and the move to new stages as a direct consequence of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Organized by the Cuban University of the Arts (ISA), as part of activities on the institution’s 45th anniversary this year, the event is being attended by renowned personalities from Latin American and Europe, among them Argentinian Atilio Borón and Manuel Santos, Venezuelan Pascualina Curcio, Mexican Fernando Buen Abad and Spaniards Ignacio Ramonet and Ramón Freire.
Under the theme ‘Science, artistic practices and social dialogue toward sustainable development’, the Conference places special emphasis on community initiatives, artistic criticism and strategies for the teaching of the different artistic expressions in the current scenario, marked by Covid-19.
Workshops, symposiums, colloquiums will all serve to exchange on heritage preservation, visual arts development, among other issues.
