Kinoshita Film Production Conglomerate

Havana, August 5 (RHC)-- The Kinoshita group, a Japanese film production company, has made a valuable contribution of inputs to the Cuban healthcare system, the Cuban Embassy in Tokyo has announced.

According to the diplomatic mission, the donation aims to strengthen Cuba's medical capacities to confront the Covid-19 pandemic.

Kinoshita is a conglomerate of Japanese film companies, including Kino Films producer and distributor, which in 2017 premiered the film ‘Ernesto’, a co-production with the Cuban company RTV commercial, shot in Cuba and directed by Japanese filmmaker Junji Sakamoto.

Based on true events, the film tells the story of Freddy Maymura, a Bolivian guerrilla fighter of Japanese origin, who fought alongside Argentinian-Cuban guerrilla commander Ernesto Guevara ‘Che’ in Bolivia.

Kinoshita group maintains close relationships with institutions in Cuba, contributing to strengthened cultural ties.

In 2017, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the assassination of Commander Ernesto Guevara in Bolivia, Kinoshita organized several events in Japan, including an exhibition of 240 photos taken by Che himself in the 1950s and 1960s.
