Havana gathering aims to consolidate Ibero-American cooperation on artistic training

Cuba's Youth Orchestra

Havana, Feb. 9 (RHC)—The 26th Meeting of the Intergovernmental Council of Ibero-American Youth Orchestras is holding session is Havana, aimed at promoting and consolidating artistic training and music development among the new generations.

The event, running through February 11th, serves as a platform for cooperation among Ibero-American nations in the artistic discipline.

The Havana meeting gathers together representatives from Mexico, Spain, Uruguay, Costa Rica, Argentina, Ecuador, Panama, Honduras, El Salvador and Guatemala, along with the the Project president Ariel Britos and the coordinator of the Cultural Section of the Ibero-American General Secretariat Enrique Vargas.

The program includes tours of Cuban cultural institutions and artistic training centers, including the headquarters of the Cuban National Choir, the National Music School and the Higher Institute for the Arts.

In the framework of the 26th Meeting of the Intergovernmental Council of Ibero-American Youth Orchestras, Cuban piano student Malva Rodríguez and the children's orchestra Vocal Clave de Sol –National Community Culture Prize laureates in 2021-- will be presented with the ‘Joven Intérprete’ (Young Performer) and the Youth Orchestra Distinctions, respectively.
