Alternative Music Festival culminates in Cienfuegos

Havana, July 4 (RHC)-- The 10th Ciudad del Mar Alternative Music Festival, organized by the Tomás Terry Theater and the Karamba group in the Cuban city of Cienfuegos, will come to an end on Monday night.

For this last day, concerts by Polito Ibañez are scheduled at the main hall of the Tomás Terry Theater; Elain Morales and Juan Mikan at the Ateneo Hall and Nelson Valdez, D Cuba, el Kikiri and Ariel Barreiro at the Tomás Terry Café Theater.

According to organizers, Toques del Rio and Alex Duval will perform at the Plaza de Actos of this city in south-central Cuba, while at the Casa de la Música EGREM, Luis Barberia and The Figaro's Jazz Club will perform.

Jorge Luis Robaina, leader of Karamba and one of the promoters of the event, told the press that this decade of festivals in this city is a reason to celebrate and for that reason they prepared a special program, with already established artists along with young talents.

Sponsored by the Provincial Directorate of Culture and the Government, for the last 10 years the Ciudad del Mar Alternative Music Festival has been offering four days of the most varied musical genres, an alternative to other sounds at the gates of summer.

This edition was sponsored by the Ministry of Culture, Empresa Comercializadora de la Música y los Espectáculos Rafael Lay, Musicuba, Artex Cienfuegos, Los Portales S.A. and Havana Club. (
