Arte en la Rampa Fair

 

Havana, Aug 18 (RHC) A look at the cultural and creative industries (CCI) in Cuba is the title of the forum-workshop that will take place in the May Hall of the capital's Pabellón Cuba, as part of the 22nd edition of the Art Fair at La Rampa, informed the Directorate for the Development of Cultural Industries and International Cooperation of the Ministry of Culture, organizer of the event.

 

The Cuban Fund for Cultural Goods (FCBC) and the Hermanos Saiz Association, which groups young creators from the Caribbean Island, are also convening the event.

 

The program of the event includes two theoretical panels to exchange experiences, best practices and challenges of the CCIs in the Antillean nation and their main characteristics.

 

Executives, entrepreneurs, creators, artists, specialists and representatives of the private sector will also discuss the potential of cultural and creative industries to contribute to the sustainability of the cultural system and the economic development of the country.

 

On Thursday, the first panel will be "CCIs in Cuba: a debate on their essence and complexities", with the participation of Tania García who will speak on "Cultural industry and creative economy: discussing the terms".

 

Pedro E. Moras, researcher at the Juan Marinello Cuban Institute of Cultural Research, will also present "Cultural Consumption in Cuba.

 

Trends and Challenges", and critic, researcher and writer Victor Fowler Calzada with "Cuban Cultural Industries: Challenges".

 

On Friday, the central panel "The visual arts in Cuba: an approach from the value chain" will feature interventions by Surnai Benitez, promoter of the FCBC, Jorge Alfonso Garcia, director of Genesis Art Galleries, and Gisela Herrero Garcia, head of the National Design Office.

 

Others who will share their points of view will be Luis Ramirez, vice president of the Caguayo Foundation, Angel Fornaris, designer and leader of Grupo Luminarias Katauro, Nereida Herran Bolaños, director of UEB Obras por encargado del FCBC de la plataforma Ejakí, and the Biyaya project will be presented.
