Producciones Colibri treasures 20 years in a Cuban musical jewel

Havana, Aug. 8 (RHC) The Cuban record label Producciones Colibri presented today in Havana the 20 Years Collection, made up of five volumes dedicated to different musical expressions.

The compilation was presented at the Casa de la Amistad, where the director of this institution, Carole Fernandez, said that the activity salutes the 98th anniversary of the birth of the leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, and reveals to the public a sound journey that evidences the passion and creativity of two decades in Colibri.

This collection of 20 years includes Volume I Jazz en punto, Volume II Desde lo Tradicional, Volume III Con alas de Colibrí, Volume IV Legado and Volume V Colijugando y Colicantando, the latter dedicated to the joy of children.

It was reported that in order to create the collection, more than 700 of the label's productions released over two decades were reviewed.

Fernández informed that it is already available on the Sandunga platform and recalled that it was awarded a special prize at the Cubadisco event.

He added that the volumes include a selection of accompanying video clips and that the collection brings its format closer to the new digital supports that open up the possibility of enjoying this Cuban music and audiovisuals in wider spaces.

Four of the compilers, including Adolfo Costales and Mayra Torralbas, were present at the presentation.

Costales said that this work includes important musical manifestations that represent the main lines of Colibrí's work.

For her part, Torralbas pointed out that the 20 Years Collection reflects Cuban culture, as well as a variety of genres, expressions and types of music. The Colibrí director also pointed out that all the volumes include the so-called concert music, with the participation of emblematic groups and performers of the national scene.
