Lima, August 2 (RHC) – Jorge Felix Alvarez gave Cuba its 6th Gold medal this Thursday, by scoring 28 points to conquer the Men´s Rapid-Fire Pistol title. Olympic Champion Leuris Pupo was the runner-up with 26, while Peruvian Marko Carrillo went home with a Bronze. This result gives Jorge Felix Alvarez a direct qualification ticket to Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympics.
Dianelis Perez and Eglys de la Cruz could not make it into the top 8 of the Women´s 10 meters Air Rifle. Perez finished 10th with a score of 618.1 points, close to Argentinian Fernanda Maria Ruso, who with 618.7 finished in 8th spot. De la Cruz, with 610.4 points, finished in 19th place.
