Havana, June 9 (MARCA)-- At 26, Yulimar Rojas is running out of challenges.  The Venezuelan triple jumper is already an Olympic champion and two-time world outdoor champion and holds the world record with 15.67 meters, a mark she improved at the World Indoor Championships in Belgrade last March with 15.74 meters.

The student of Cuban Ivan Pedroso dreams of reaching 16 meters, an unthinkable distance for women until the irruption of the Caracas native on the international scene.

However, there is another challenge that stimulates Rojas beyond those magical 16 meters: the possibility of also reigning in the long jump.

If the forecasts are fulfilled, the attempt at the double - triple and long - will come in just over a month at the World Championships in Eugene, United States, an event for which the Venezuelan has achieved the minimum standard in the long jump at the Guadalajara meeting, where she made her season debut with a leap of 6.93 (+0.4) meters, improving her personal best, as she had 6.88 last year.
