Havana, November 14 (RHC)-- The First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel recognized Monday the Cuban team champion of the first Baseball 5 World Cup, held in Mexico City.
"Congratulations, boys! What a joy you have given Cuba," the president wrote on Twitter.
In the final, the Caribbean team defeated Japan twice, with scores of nine runs to one and six to two.
Cuba was the best from start to finish in the tournament, finishing undefeated in the qualifying phase, the Super Round and the final.
