Havana, February 23 (RHC)-- First Secretary of the Party Central Committee and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, congratulated INDER workers on February 23 on the 62nd anniversary of its founding.

Díaz-Canel made his congratulations public on the social network Twitter, in which he highlights the challenges to put sports at the height of the best achievements of the Cuban revolution.

"On the 62nd anniversary of its founding, my embrace and congratulations to the workers of INDER, challenged every day to put the institution at the height of the history of our sports movement. #MejorEsPosible," reads the president's tweet.

For his part, Esteban Lazo, president of the National Assembly of People's Power and the Council of State of the Republic of Cuba, said: "Congratulations to INDER on its 62nd anniversary. Sports as a right of the people guaranteed by the Revolution has given countless achievements to the homeland. INDER contributes significantly to the health and education of the population".

The head of the sports organization, Osvaldo Vento Montiller, also celebrated the anniversary with a message on the same social network.

"May the privilege of knowing that we are continuing the work of Fidel continue to inspire the work of INDER, which deserves the people to whom we owe ourselves," he said.

On the occasion of the anniversary, central activities are being held in Camagüey, in emblematic sites such as the Ignacio Agramonte Revolution Square and the Rafael Fortún Sports Palace.

The celebration will close with a political and cultural gala on Thursday night at the Avellaneda Theater in the capital of Agramonte.
