Havana, October 31 (ACN) -- The Cuban pair of Daniela Fonseca and Jorge Campos won the gold medal in the mixed doubles table tennis at the Pan American Games of Santiago Chile 2023 on Monday, beating the Brazilian duo of Bruna Takahashi-Victor Ishiy 4-0.
This whitewash was really a walkover with their racquets against the South Americans, and the scores showed it: 11-8, 11-6, 11-7, 11-7 and 11-7.
The statistics of the final match reflect that the Cuban duo scored 21 points on their own serves and took advantage of the 23 errors of their opponents.
Fonseca-Campos had already secured their Olympic qualification to Paris 2024. And after 28 years, they included Cuba in a Pan American final in table tennis.
