Matanzas, January 29 (RHC) -- The four teams participating in the All-Star Series had the chance this Monday to select a pair of representatives to compete in the home run derby of the baseball festival.
The last champion of this type of competition in Cuba, Rafael Viñales, and Yordanis Samón, led the classification with ten home runs per capita.
Finally, it will be a pair of players from the largest of the Antilles and two Venezuelans who will compete for the crown, as Juan Carlos Torres and José Tello joined the aforementioned sluggers. The latter qualified in a playoff series.
Just after securing his place for the final of the following date, Tello talked to Radio Habana Cuba and told us:
"I am very happy and grateful for the invitation, I was able to connect to qualify. Tomorrow we have to come focused and see what happens".
