Havana, February 19 (RHC) - Arlenis Sierra continues to shine in the world road circuit: the stellar Cuban cyclist escorted the winner of the fourth and final stage of the Vuelta Ciclística a la Comunidad Valenciana, the Italian world champion Elisa Balsamo.

"La Pantera", as Arlenis is nicknamed in Movistar of Spain, achieved her excellent performance after 118 kilometres in mountainous terrain, thanks to the collective work of the team.

The multi-champion from Cuba is one of the most outstanding cyclists in recent years in the World Road Tour and is preparing for the Olympic Games in Paris, for which she has already qualified. In recent years she has twice been included in the top ten in world championships and has achieved more than a dozen podiums in major road races worldwide.

Switzerland's Marlen Reusser (SD Worx) was proclaimed champion of the Tour by keeping her leader's jersey at the end of the fourth stage, won by Balsamo.

Arlenis announced that her next competition will be on 24 February in Belgium.
