Havana, June 15 (PL)-- Germany opened its performance in the European Soccer Championship this Friday with a bang, with a 5-1 win over Scotland in the opening game.

The hosts of the continental event destroyed the rival defense with goals from Florian Wirtz in the minute (10), Jamal Musiala (19), Kai Havertz (45+1 penalty), Niclas Fullkrug (68) and Emre Can (90+3) .

The Scottish team lost Ryan Porteous due to a red card (m. 44), but saved the honor with an own goal from German Antonio Rudiger (87).

From early on, the Germans imposed their class and power to open the scoring after 10 minutes with an accurate shot by Wirtz that goalkeeper Angus Gunn could not reject.

The three-time European champions controlled the ball, led by a phenomenal Toni Kroos, to not give the Scots many options, unable to prevent the Germans' second perforation at 19.

A great team play allowed Kai Havertz to set up Musiala, who scored in cold blood to make it 2-0.

Scotland suffered another blow, when Porteous received the red card for a foul on Ilkay Gundogan in the area and Havertz scored his team's third goal from a penalty, already in added time of the first half (m. 45+1).

In the complementary part, German dominance increased, well taken advantage of by Fullkrug to score the fourth (m.68).

With the match already going downhill, the Scots pulled one back near the end with an own goal by central defender Rudiger when he took advantage of a mistake by the rival defense (m. 87).

In stoppage time (90+3), Can rounded off the score for the hosts with a powerful shot from the entrance of the area.

Germany achieved the biggest win in history in an initial match of the Euro Cup, and will face Hungary on the second day of group A. For its part, Scotland will face Switzerland.
