Havana, July 16 (RHC) Vegueros de Pinar del Rio beat Leones de Industriales 15x3 on Monday at the Latin American Stadium to take a 3-2 lead in the semifinal playoff of the 63rd National Baseball Series.
Mentor Alexander Urquiola's team went to bat and did not stop until hitting 16 hits, including the team's first home run in these five games against the Azules from the capital, thanks to a powerful swing by slugger Yaser Julio González.
Outstanding at bat for the Vegueros was shortstop Tailon Sánchez, who went 6-5, with two singles, three doubles and an equal number of RBIs, to equal a record of hits in the Cuban post-seasons.
