Cuban paralympic athletes

Paris, August 22 (JIT) - The Cuban delegation that will participate in the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games settled in the event's village after the fruitful indoor training base in Pamplona, Spain.

Upon their arrival, they spread the charisma that identifies those from the island to the building that now displays the Cuban flag and will serve as a shelter for the duration of the event.

The good atmosphere was not an obstacle for them to continue their preparation, and this day they trained to continue working on getting in shape.

“We are happy to get here and very motivated to compete and give our best,” Raciel Gonzalez (T47), who will compete in the 100-meter flat parathletics event, told JIT.

“Here we continue training to reinforce the preparation we did in Pamplona and we are all focused on obtaining the best possible results. There is a very good spirit among all of us and a great desire to compete”, assured the sprinter.

The city has the infrastructure conditions for athletes with different types of disabilities, both for their mobility and for their stay and daily life activities.

Temperatures in the French capital, one of the concerns due to the absence of air conditioning in the building, have begun to drop slightly, although despite being more pleasant than a month ago, they still generate complaints from the exponents of different Paralympic committees.
