Havana, Sep 5 (JIT) Cuban Pablo Ramirez lifted 185 kilograms of immortality at the Paralympic Games being held in Paris.

His name will head the list of Cuban para powerlifting medalists in these events, since the silver medal obtained is unprecedented for those born in the Greater Antilles.

If someone thought that the claim to climb the podium was excessively optimistic, he took charge of dismantling the postulate with the best mark of his life, surpassing the previous record by two kilograms.

Starting the most important competition of his career by pretending to lift 184 kg, a weight never officially achieved, seemed like an exaggerated show of confidence, but going up to 185 kg, after failing the first attempt, was too much for even the most impartial spectators.

However, he laid his back on the lifting chair again and raised his hands to eternal glory with one attempt to go, because at that point no one was competing except Kazakhstan's David Degtyarev.

The Asian raised his stop by one unit, and Pablo could not reply, without leaving an ounce of the enormous merit of his feat.

The Chinese Jingland Yan was left with the bronze metal and an exercise of 179 kg, far from the fight for the crown of the 54 kg division, PO class.

The joy took hold of him and it is not for less, from now on he counts as the greatest in his specialty in Cuba.

This was the second silver medal for the Cuban delegation in Paris and the fifth in total if we add the three gold medals won in the previous day.
