U23 Cuban Volleyball Team (f)
Veracruz, Mexico, Sep 8 (PL) The Cuban women's volleyball team faces the Dominican Republic today for the gold medal at the U23 Pan American Cup, which will be held in this Mexican city.
After beating the hosts in a hard-fought clash that needed an extra partial to be defined, everything is ready at the Xalapa International Velodrome for the final duel between the two Caribbean teams.
The Cubans, bronze medalists in the 2014, 2016 and 2018 editions, will be competing for the first time in these competitions to dispute the title, so regardless of the result, they have already signed a praiseworthy performance by getting together with their rivals the first two tickets of the Norceca region to the II Junior Pan American Games of Asuncion 2025.
The Quintana Roo players will be the overwhelming favorites, after winning all the previous editions since 2012 and proving that they are the best in the area.
On this day, the Mexicans will compete for the bronze medal against the Chilean squad, Costa Rica and Peru for fifth place, and Nicaragua and Suriname for seventh place.
