Ulsan, South Korea, Oct 24 (JIT) - With Yoennis Yera as starting pitcher and some lineup moves, Cuba will take on Friday, in South Korea, the second of its preparatory games ahead of the Premier 12 baseball tournament, scheduled as part of the Ulsan-KBO 2024 Autumn League.
His opponent will be the Jiangsu Huge Horses, the champion of the Chinese Baseball Association Championship, which shows a balance of two wins and an equal number of setbacks in the tournament in which the island debuted with a 1x13 setback against the local NC Dines.
Yera, one of the veteran members of his team, was satisfied with the results of the training sessions that began at the Latin American Stadium in Havana and said he was "ready to go out and do the job, with the same disposition as always".
He recalled that this has been his main goal, no matter whether as starter, reliever, or closer, and highlighted the high level of concentration of the team, in order to arrive in top shape to an event that will be demanding for everyone.
"In general, the preparation has been good, including the few days we have been here after a very tiring trip, sharing together as a family," he said and downplayed the previous defeat.
"What happened is now behind us, convinced that the important thing is to continue focusing on the games to come, with the purposes defined for this stage", said the Matanzas-born pitcher .
As for what happend in the previous outing, the team management informed that Jean Harvi Walters and Rafael Viñales will occupy the positions played then by Yadil Mujica and Guillermo Avilés, respectively.
