Reaching the end of the 2nd level of the XXVI World Volleyball League is the aim of Cuba's men's team, which will begin its drive against Canada in Group C as visitors.

Fencing
The Cuban swordsman, Reynier Henriquez, reached the bronze medal at the Pan-American Fencing Championships, 1st medal of the Cuban delegation in that tournament based in Chile, an event that provides tickets to the continental cap in Toronto.
