Caracas, February 17 (RHC)-- Venezuelan Vice President Delcy Rodríguez has accused the Spanish right-wing of supporting the self-proclaimed 'president' Juan Guaidó.  In an interview with the Venezuelan news channel Televen,  Delcy Rodriguez accused the right parties in Spain of having “a profound double standard” because of their backing of Guaidó, who is in favor of a coup d’état in the South American country. 

Rodríguez explained that, according to Venezuelan laws, the self-proclaimed president is “an enemy to the homeland that is serving a foreign government against national interests and territorial integrity."  The Venezuelan vice president also expressed her rejection of the banality of media, but also the political eccentricity that the Spanish right shows.  She added that Guaido is “an agent supported by a foreign government to undermine Venezuela’s sovereignty.”

On February 5, Venezuelan Foreign Minister Jorge Arreaza also accused Guaidó in an official communication of selling out his country and pointed to his complicity with Donald Trump.

In January of 2019, Guaidó, in an attempt of destabilizing the legit government of President Nicolás Maduro, carried out an infructuous action that had the support of his U.S. allies.

Violating a prohibition of traveling abroad, Guaidó left Venezuela and traveled to the U.S and other countries who recognizes him as “mandated president” of the Bolivarian Republic.  On January 5th, met Trump in the White House, a political gesture that confirms the complete support that the U.S. president gives to the opposition in Venezuela.
