Havana, April 25 (RHC)-- Representatives of the Colombian government and the Revolutionary Armed Forces continue peace negotiations in Havana in an effort to find a solution to the over 60-year armed conflict prevailing in the South American nation.

The two delegations kicked off the 24th round of talks, which started in November 2012 at Havana’s Convention Center.

The head of the guerrilla delegation, Ivan Marquez reiterated the need to set up a commission to clear out the truth of the conflict, in order to contribute to the fifth point on the agenda, which is related to the victims of the armed conflict.

At present, discussions are focusing on illegal drugs, after the parties reached consensus on issues, such as agrarian development, political participation last year. The two delegation are expected to reach compromises on the end of the armed conflict and mechanisms to implement, verify and sign a possible accord that brings a final solution to the Colombian problem.
