Buenos Aires, July 19 (RHC)-- Former Bolivian President Evo Morales rejected the intention of political parties of the Bolivian right to challenge the candidacy of Luis Arce, the Movement Toward Socialism (MAS), for the presidency of Bolivia, on alleged electoral irregularities.

"The right again tries to outlaw MAS by inventing an infraction for commenting on data; however, the vice-presidential candidate for the ruling Juntos party, Samuel Doria Medina, commented and published polls twice but everyone is silent," Morales said in a tweet.

The MAS leader mentioned the threat of the Juntos y Creemos political alliances to file a lawsuit at the Supreme Electoral Tribunal (TSE) to disqualify Luis Arce for an alleged violation of electoral laws.

Luis "Lucho" Arce is said to have released an opinion poll on the presidential race, which he heads, outside the time frame allowed by current regulations.  The spokesperson for Juntos, whose candidate for the 6 September elections is the de facto President, Jeanine Áñez, said that the complaint would be submitted to the TSE first thing Monday morning.

For his part, the representative of Creemos, Zvonko Matkovic, stated that the complaint to be presented by the group, which is competing for the Presidency with former Santa Cruz leader Luis Fernando Camacho, seeks the annulment of the legal status of MAS for the same reason.

For her part, MAS spokesperson Marianela Paco indicated that the accusations against Arce seek to eliminate the party and has denied that any electoral norm has been violated because there was no planning for the diffusion of the results of the aforementioned poll.

According to the results of a recent poll by the Latin American Strategic Center for Geopolitics (Celag), the MAS candidate has an advantage over Carlos Mesa, with a view to the September elections.
