"Honduras faces a crossroads of its destiny," declared the director of the National Anti-Corruption Council (CNA) of the Central American country.

Tegucigalpa, February 25 (RHC)-- The director of the National Anti-Corruption Council (CNA) of Honduras, Gabriela Castellanos issued this Wednesday an open letter to the president of Honduras, Juan Orlando Hernández, demanding his resignation.

According to the letter, Juan Orlando Hernandez did not fulfill his "high duties of loyalty and commitments made to the nation in acts at odds with the values of the Republic that break not only the foundations of the rule of law, but those principles to which he is obliged as an official to promote and defend the country."

"Honduras faces a crossroads in its destiny that oblige this public demand regarding the gesture of his resignation to be urgent and irrevocable before the National Congress of the Republic within constitutional and legal parameters, in urgent plenary session and in the full right of our people," said the Honduran official.

Likewise, Gabriela Castellanos pointed out that the aforementioned letter "is a patriotic duty that contributes to her clear and firm decision to order the process of changes," thanking in turn her gratitude "to the immense majority of the Honduran people for their commitment."

The director of the National Anticorruption Council (CNA) reiterated to President Juan Orlando Hernandez that he is the first citizen responsible for watching over the common welfare of all the Honduran people.

The National Anticorruption Council (CNA) of Honduras has denounced on other occasions that "human rights violations and disrespect for the dignity of health personnel can no longer be tolerated by the anxieties of officials disinterested in the health of Hondurans."
