La Paz, March 7 (RHC)-- The president of the Supreme Electoral Tribunal (TSE) of Bolivia, Salvador Romero, affirmed that the regional elections took place normally in most of the country, with the exception of the rural area of Colpa Bélgica where voting records were burned.

"We have asked the Departmental Electoral Tribunal of Santa Cruz for a detailed report on the Colpa Bélgica event.  All the tables were able to group together and develop their work on election day," indicated Romero.

The president of the TSE explained that in some places where the jurors did not show up and affected the citizens to exercise their right to vote, they will be sanctioned according to the current law.  "This process has the maximum elements of transparency, all citizens will be able to verify how the counting is progressing," emphasized the president of the Bolivian Electoral Body.

In the morning hours in the municipality of Colpa Bélgica, located in Santa Cruz, several citizens burned at least 20 amphoras of the Hans Bottler Educational Unit, where they denounced an alleged fraud. 

According to reports, the citizens claimed that their protest was due to the fact that the votes were allegedly manipulated to benefit one of the regional candidates.
