Buenos Aires, March 24 (RHC)-- Argentinean President Alberto Fernández, speaking during his visit to the vaccination center at the University of Lanús, said that the province of Buenos Aires reached one million people vaccinated with the first dose of the Sputnik V vaccine.

"Today the Province of Buenos Aires reached one million people vaccinated with the first dose. In a world suffering from shortages, we continue working to protect every Argentinean man and woman. The joy of each at-risk person who is vaccinated is the joy of all of us," said the president.

The President emphasized that the vaccination campaigns have yielded excellent results thanks to the joint work with the governors, "those of us who are governing, all of us, and I include the governors of all the provinces, know about the efforts and the care we have to maintain so that we can first vaccinate the Argentines who need it most", he added.

The Casa Rosada reported that 500,000 new Sputnik V vaccines arrived this Monday, 300,000 of component 1 and 200,000 of component 2.  In view of the shortage of vaccines in the world, the arrival of a shipment that allows to extend the vaccination campaign is another good news for the country, underlines the publication issued by the government.

The Argentinean Ministry of Health stated on its Twitter account that with the arrival of these 500,000 Sputnik V vaccines, Argentina has a total of four million 880,540 doses of the drug.
