Lenín Moreno sent tear gas and ammunition to Bolivia's coup government

Quito, June 16 (RHC)-- Ecuadorian Assemblyman Fausto Jarrín Terán denounced this Tuesday the former president of the nation Lenín Moreno before the Attorney General's Office (FGE) for his support of the Bolivian de facto government of Jeanine Áñez by sending ammunition and tear gas.

Jarrín Terán, who is part of the bench of the Union for Hope (UNES) group, confirmed the complaint against Moreno and asked for clarification of the former president against the accusations from Bolivia.

"We have approached the Prosecutor's Office to file the corresponding complaint for the fact of having delivered, without any reason, without any justification, military equipment, tear gas bombs, bullets to the de facto government of Jeanine Áñez in 2019", said Jarrín Terán.

The complaint was filed after the current Minister of Government of Bolivia, Eduardo del Castillo, said that Lenín Moreno, acting as President of Ecuador, provided war ammunition and elements of repression such as tear gas and bullets to the former dictator Jeanine Áñez, who became President of the Andean country after a coup d'état against Evo Morales.

"We have seen that the Ecuadorian government has lent tear gas to the government of Mrs. Jeanine Áñez, however, we have unofficial information that it also provided high caliber ammunition, we are talking about war ammunition," denounced the Bolivian minister.
