Brasilia, September 5 (RHC)-- Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro has again threatened the ministers of the Federal Supreme Court (STF) with events scheduled for Tuesday, September 7th -- Independence Day in Brazil -- when supporters of the president will hold marches against the magistrates of the Court.
In the event held with supporters in the municipality of Tanhaçu, in the state of Bahia, the Brazilian president affirmed the participation of the army in a tour of the headquarters of the organ of Justice, according to local media.
Contradictory to his governmental trajectory, Jair Bolsonaro specified that "we do not criticize institutions or powers. We are punctual. We cannot admit that one or two people, using the force of power, want to give another direction to our country," he said.
Referring to the politician Alexandre de Moraes and to the president of the Supreme Electoral Tribunal (TSE), Luís Roberto Barroso, the president emphasized that "they have to understand their place. And your message, Brazilian people, in the streets next Tuesday, will be an ultimatum for these two people."
Also from an ironic stance, Jair Bolsonaro summoned Supreme Judge Alexandre de Moraes to join him in the September 7 rally, after affirming that the TSE politician is investigating him for disseminating false news and attacking the electoral system with his allegations of fraud without evidence.
The call for the September 7th march was rejected by Congress and the Supreme Court itself, and condemned by organizations, unions, and even by right-wing political parties, which have expressed their opinion against any kind of "authoritarian adventure."
Jair Bolsonaro is preparing to participate in protests described as coup-like by local media and agendas scheduled for the September 7 holiday at the Esplanade of the Ministries, in Brasília, and on Paulista Avenue, in São Paulo.
Supporters of the ultra-right-wing president are calling for a "military intervention" against the Brazilian Congress and the Supreme Court to shut down their respective seats.
Among many other reactions, it motivated the message issued by the National Confederation of Bishops of Brazil to Christians urging them "not to let themselves be convinced by those who attack the Legislative and Judicial powers."
