The Venezuelan Foreign Ministry has rejected the decision of a UK court that prevents the country from recovering its own international reserves, which would help mitigate the impacts generated by the illegal blockade.

Caracas, December 21 (RHC)-- The Venezuelan Foreign Ministry has rejected the decision of a UK court that prevents the country from recovering its own international reserves, which would help mitigate the impacts generated by the illegal blockade.

"This decision violates the norms of International Public Law, the Venezuelan constitutional order and British legislation, at the same time that it represents serious risks for the investments that the international community has trusted in the financial system of the United Kingdom," the Ministry noted.

Venezuelan diplomatic authorities point out that the Supreme Court of Justice of Great Britain is subjected to political decisions of the Executive, "leaving in evidence the lack of separation of powers, of impartiality and, above all, of independent action of this organ of justice."

"The British Government resorts to a fraudulent political set-up, in complicity with extremist factors of Venezuelan politics, led by the impostor Juan Guaidó, with the perverse objective of shamelessly stealing the gold of Venezuelans and seizing the international reserves of the Venezuelan State, within the framework of the anti-legal framework directed from Washington to dispossess the resources that are the property of our people," emphasizes the Venezuelan Foreign Ministry.

Alluding to the unprecedented decision of the United Kingdom to disregard the constitutional authorities of Venezuela, the Ministry details that the South American country is a sovereign state and therefore, there is only one constitutional president -- Nicolás Maduro.

At the same time, the Venezuelan Foreign Ministry asserted that it will continue using legitimate legal methods to recover the international resources that belong to its people.   "The British Government is aware that these reserves are protected internationally by the immunity that is proper to them, and also that which is granted by the internal legislation of the United Kingdom, through the "Immunity Act"."
