Bogota, December 28 (RHC)-- Colombia's Institute for Development and Peace Studies (Indepaz) confirmed Tuesday the 93rd massacre in 2021, after three members of a family were killed in the village of Sabanalarga de Sácama, in the department of Casanare.

According to Indepaz, at 8 p.m. local time (01H00 GMT), in the village of Sabana Larga in the municipality of Sácama, a group of men attacked a family.  Through a communiqué, the National Peasant Association José Antonio Galán Zorro, denounced that the events occurred on the night of December 26, when Damasio Velandia, María Fonseca and Ferley Velandia Fonseca, were violently killed.

This association had issued an early warning about threats made by pamphlets against the communities of Yopal, Aguazul, Támara, Sácama and La Salina.  In this regard, the Ombudsman's Office issued TA 008/21 in which it warns about threats by different armed actors against peasants, leaders, women leaders, among other groups.

In this sense, it also warns about the pressures of the presence of armed groups, where the inhabitants are violently offered "security," and in exchange they demand silence and restrictions.

According to Indepaz's publication on the social network Twitter, the groups operating in the area are the Autodefensas Gaitanistas de Colombia (AGC), the 28th Front and pamphlets of the National Liberation Army (ELN).

Indepaz issued this Monday its annual report on the murder of social leaders, which counted 92 massacres, with 168 social leaders murdered.  We now sadly add yet another.
