U.S. President Joe Biden's order diverting half of Afghanistan’s frozen assets to 9/11 families continues to spark outrage among Afghans.

Kabul, February 18 (RHC)-- U.S. President Joe Biden's order diverting half of Afghanistan’s frozen assets to 9/11 families continues to spark outrage among Afghans.  People across the country hold different demonstrations against the U.S. to condemn Biden’s move.  They say “9/11 has nothing to do with the Afghan People,” calling for the entire frozen assets to be released for the benefit of Afghanistan.

Members of Afghanistan’s Chamber of Mines and Industry say their businesses and factories are on the brink of collapse due to sanctions, adding that seizing Afghanistan's reserves can push them to the edge.

The U.S. has frozen nearly $7 billion in the Afghan central bank’s assets since the Taliban takeover in August last year.  People say the U.S. should not only unfreeze all of that money but also pay compensation for its war crimes in Afghanistan.
